Cooperstown is not looking its best. need for taxis.
Cooperstown is part of the town of Otsego. there is a desperate need for reasonably priced year round rental property. dream parks has taken
away a way of life that has existed since the village began. pressure needs to be brought to bear on village officials to provide this housing. THIS
NEED NOT BE A SLUM !!! this is just for lower income who have lived in the village most of their lives and are priced out of the market--if any
apartments are available.
coordinate snow removal services better with county (don't scrape the sand off the road that the county just put down) repair the damn!!!! (doesn't
a majority of the town's tax revenue come from homes on the lake?!) since Otsego has nothing for teens to do, support other efforts ie. the Zone
in Richfield, the school can't do it all.
Don't allow Cooperstown to exclude single-parent homes due to high taxes. We don't want to be an elitist town.
dont pave everything over! leave some winding country lanes
don't spend money
Except for the last two questions, I had difficulty completing the form so that it stated my opinions. Basically, I like the rural nature of our town
and would like to encourage only development that preserves that rural nature. I would also like to encourage us to use public money to assist
preserving and even enhancing that nature. Having said this, I would also like us to encourage development needed to provide funds for running
the town. We must have some commercial development and need to find those uses and those locations where such activities will not interfere
with our rural character. Finally, our farms are disappearing. Our farmers have been the folks who have preserved our rural character for us, and
have not charged us any fees for doing so. Who will replace these farmers when they must sell their farms because they lack economic viability?
How can the town encourage private farmers to stay active or to buy farms for sale? Lots more from me, but survey is not the best forum.
Thanks for all the good work in obtaining public opinion.
Good luck.
I am not sure I understand all the questions. I do not want to see dense residential or commercial development at the expense of our rural
character and without benefit to the taxpayers. I do not want to see businesses come in buying rural land for a business that requires the town to
build roads and provide services that would cost more than the taxes that that business would pay.
I am very concerned about the expansions of the baseball camps and the impact of the numbers therein on the village of Cooperstown, on local
water supply, on air quality, on safety within the village, and on roads. Taxes on tourism should cover the costs of this. There are those who live
near the camps who have experienced low water supply during the camp season. This is not right. The village of Cooperstown so not only is
mostly inaccessible but is so crowded during the camp months that it is hazardous to those using wheelchairs. This is also not right.
I appreciate the survey design segmenting the town into regions/neighborhoods. The diversity of land uses in these areas may reflect an equal
