I strongly support creating cluster development to balance out the rights of property owners with the need to preserve the rural character of the
area. I believe that this ultimately increases land value rather than diminishes it. Look to positive examples in Vermont and other areas.
I think it's interesting that there is not a "unnecessary"box for development and apartment house, etc on # 13 and "snowmobling/hunting on # 16.
Very interesting in fact.
I think that planning boards are important only for maintaining necessary and intelligent regulations not ridiculous ones-I am proud to have lived in
the town for so long and will soon be coming back.
I would like to see a women's recreational facility and/or spa and BOCES type vocational and creative courses for adults during the winter
months. We need activities that are fun and rewarding without a big ticket price for the 12-month residents. Movie theatres, dancing, cooking
classes, piano bars. Also, a tourist recently asked me where she could buy a bathing suit for her son - I had no answer - we have a lake & a
gym but no place for a child's swim suit. Good luck!
I would like to see elimination of new or changed commercial industry in or near village of Fly Creek. We DO NOT need a cement plant or other
unsightly / dirty/ dusty industry near the village. Thank You for the opportunity to express our opinion.
I would like to see the committee seek input from other Townships in New York state ,who have probably experienced these issues already. The
Rochester, New York area for one experienced rapid growth many years ago. The municipalities in that area have already delt with these issues
as have the municipalities along Lake Champlain.
I would like town events not to be always scheduled on Sunday nights and always not on holiday weekends, example, Winter Carnival is not the
weekend of President's Day. My grandchildren can never take part because they must go home for school the next day
I'd like to see those wind turbines erected here in Otsego townif we the people could receive a break on our taxes and or preferential electric
rates.
If development has to occur there should be strict limitations with regards to usage. Middlefield has a clause which prevents "baseball" camps
per se. The Town of Otsego should learn from the mistakes and over leniency of the Town of Hartwick.
In coming up with plans please remember the families with two working parents trying to keep a place of their own. Continuing rising taxes with
the climbing assessed values even with no improvements on the land are becoming a burden. It would be a shame to have a beautiful setting
and no one to raise a family here.
In many cases, we felt that there was no need at all, whereas the questionnaire gave only the choices of strong need, minor need, OK as is, and
no opinion. Our ignorance of the membership of the various town offices and boards made it difficult to render an opinion on their performance.
increasing senior population needs more local grocery stores
It is critical to control development areas to the Rte 28 corridors. The open space agricultural areas are under so much development pressure for
residential housing that commercial businesses should NOT be allowed out of the corridor. We have got to invest in the future of our children by
