Thank you for the opportunity to participate. Not many communities make the planning process so easily accessible.
Thank you for your help.
Thank you for your work on this; it is appreciated! Try to limit growth to the smart kind -- the kind that preserves what is worth preserving without
getting stuck in the past. It is a difficult task but a worthwhile one. Keep up the good work!
thanks for asking
Thanks for trying to preserve the rural character of the Town of Otsego without it being overcome by the fever --and kitsch-- of baseball! Best
wishes with THE PLAN!!
The leading principle for the Steering Committee should be minimal intrusion on the property rights of land owners. People should have the
opportunity to build for the purposes that they wish where they wish.
The pressure on our town from "out of scale" baseball camps and tourism has made it apparent that it is our responsibility to protect and preserve
our heritage while we have the chance to do so.
The protection of viewsheds (along county and town roads, waterways ) goes a long way toward preserving rural character.
The question on weekly rentals is incorrect and political in its formulation. Weekly rentals are allowed by law. The question should have read "do
you want to restrict or eliminate weekly rentals?" not allow. This is not an issue that is going to resolved by public opinion, only by constitutional
law if unconstitutional Town laws are passed restricting it.
The town doesn't need to build any new buildings. They need to fix what they already have.
the town is beautiful and historic. i would not want to change the beauty or history but it does lack some things. as time goes by we need to
change a bit to keep up with all the daily changes in life. one big change that needs some attention is the employment and salaries. there is a
lack and i hope this can change for the better.
The town of Otsego is unique. It somewhat developed, yet still quaint and charming. Unfortunately, times are changing and the big money
developers (the carpetbaggers) are at our/your door steps. In order to preserve our/your town, the town officials must stay focused. They must
not be lured by these carpetbaggers with large sums of money. These people have no vested interest in our/your town, other then making
money. They are not interested in preserving the area. Money and greed are their only interest. Once their done with their development, they
are gone and we/you will be left with the mess. While it will be almost impossible to prevent development, town officials should/must play it
smart. Each developer should have to give back to the community. Make deals that will benefit our/your community, as a whole. Such as,
having a developer donate a community center, fire truck, road improvements, communication equipment, perhaps even a municipal building.
For each development approved, the developer should have to give something to the community. Don't approve any development unless it is
conforms to the architectural design and landscape of the area. Don't let the developers completely clear an area. Each development should
