have some trees and open space. Don't let the lovely town of otsego become a concrete jungle. Play it smart don't be tricked by the smooth
talking developers/carpetbaggers. You hold the strings, not them. I speak from experience. Councilwoman Maureen Holtje Edgewater, New

The town of Otsego will someday be the "rich peoples resort" as working class is driven out! Working people will not be able to afford living here
and will move. Only wealthy retired will be lift. I believe that is the town's goal. Wekly rentals should be allowed free of charge, after all its not all
about the money.
The ZBA and ZEO are utterly useless.
There are few areas left that are as open and beautiful.
There are too many regulations now. TAXES are too high now. Currently no incentive to improve property because it would just raise taxes.
Satisfied with snow removal. What are they doing when there's no snow to plow? Plenty of ditches need cleaning out. There is a lot of brush
that needs cutting along the road. AND this doesn't mean just riding around!
there are too many tax exempt properties in our area-need to publicize this and encourage exempt owners to make payments
There has already been far too much uncontrolled development in the rural areas of this town, often affecting critical wetlands habitats and open
farmland--divided up and filled in for proposed subdivisions--at the expense of that very rural character that is being examined here. A temporary
but immediate moratorium on the issuance of new building permits plus limitations on any changes to already existing buildings, and especially a
stoppage on work in sensitive wetland and floodplain areas, until this comprehensive survey & town plan--as well as the pending proposed
changes to the dam up at Candarago Lake--would be highly advisable, at least until these ideas can be instituted. Some sections of the current
Land Use Laws are also open to various interpretations and a rewrite of the more questionable items, with the participation of the town's
residents, would help to alleviate a large degree of confusion surrounding the direction that any future development is intended to take. Do not
mistake 'development' for 'progress'--sometimes more is lost than gained. Thank you.
there is a great need to eliminate nighttime light pollution.
There needs to be a plan that everyone is required to follow-no favoritism, just even handed regulation and a good and fair appeal system.
think baseball mania is becoming less profitable and we better plan for uses when these persons leave
This is and should remain a rural area. The two things that will influence the area over time will be base ball related tourism in the summer and
homes for a slowly but gradually increasing retirement group.Baseball is doing very well but too often people motivated by greed will go to far and
then leave the mess for others to clean up. For the elderly pre planned areas for village type development is a good idea as well as minimum
property sizes like 5 to 10 acres.
To protect the above- you must treat the owner the same as if he/she sold on the open market. They should not suffer for government controls.
